News about the 2019 Horse Farm Hundred
It is my pleasure to introduce this year’s TVM ride jersey designed by class of 2020 student and TVM student president Juan Carvajal. It is a great looking jersey. This year, the jerseys will be purchased through an online store that will be run by Garneau. This will allow everyone to order the exact size they need. The store will be open for a short window so we can determine a final order, get the shirts printed, and have them delivered in time for the event. The shirts will be delivered to Dr. Gallagher and will be distributed at the team dinner (Saturday night before the ride) or the morning of the ride. The TVM club will purchase a limited number of extra shirts in popular sizes for last minute purchase and sales at events such as open house. https://www.lgpickpayride.com/TeamVetMed_190867PPR All orders must be placed by August 30th.

TeamVetMed is a student club whose focus is cycling. In addition to students, alumni and faculty also participate in riding. The goal is to bring together cyclists for fun and friendship. Our main event each year is the Horse Farm Hundred, a 100-mile ride through the beautiful horse farms of Ocala. There are also shorter routes of 25 and 55 miles. Through this ride each year, we raise money to fund student scholarships. Over the last 20 years, TeamVetMed has raised nearly $500,000 to endow scholarship funds. These scholarships are awarded to students actively involved in TeamVetMed. Each “season” we have training rides to get everyone ready for the Horse Farm Hundred. Don’t think you could ever ride 100 miles? You would be surprised. We have many novice riders that join us each year and do great. TeamVetMed also participates in other events during the year such as Katie’s Ride on beautiful Amelia Island and The Pink Pumpkin Pedal Off right here in Gainesville. If you have interested in getting started in cycling, let us know and we can help you get out and pedaling
If you are interested in biking with us, either send an email to Dr. Alex Gallagher ’01 (firstname.lastname@example.org) an email to be added to the TeamVetMed listserv or join the Facebook group (UF CVM Team Vet Med, https://www.facebook.com/groups/131821211052/ ) to receive further announcements about training rides, events, etc. We are an easy going group who ride for fun and friendship.
