Faculty Support

The Promise of Tomorrow

The women and men teaching, doing research and leading the University of Florida are committed to the idea that through education and discovery they can improve the lives of not just UF students, but of people across the globe. A major goal of the Florida Tomorrow campaign is to improve funding for teaching and research to give faculty the tools they need to enhance classroom instruction and conduct world-class work. Reaching that goal is also a critical step in the University of Florida’s strategic plan to become one of the nation’s premier universities.

Endowments established and grown to support faculty will help explore space, oceans and the tiny universes seen only through a microscope. Financial gifts will help transform Florida’s elementary schools into the envy of the nation, feed the world’s hungry, cure ailments such as cancer, epilepsy and Alzheimer’s disease, develop cleaner, better energy alternatives, and promote the humanities in daily life. Support for UF faculty will make it possible to discover and invent what we cannot imagine. Most importantly, it will help our professors prepare future generations for the challenges of their own lives and times.

A talented and bright faculty with the proper tools will make life better for all of us tomorrow.

“Other universities come out and try to steal our faculty away. They offer things like endowed professorships and funded labs [and] funded post doctoral fellowships to attract them. To remain competitive the University of Florida will need those kinds of things.” — Stephen Eikenberry, UF faculty member”
